Dr. Kevin Chan is an experienced adult Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Physician. He graduated from the University of Sydney Medical School in 1997, receiving his training at Westmead, Bankstown, and Concord Repatriation Hospitals. During his senior years of training, he was appointed as a Medical Review Officer by the NSW Ombudsman.
Dr. Chan has a wide range of expertise in Respiratory and Sleep conditions such as Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, Sleep disordered breathing, Insomnia, Narcolepsy, Chronic Cough, Bariatric Respiratory Care, COPD, breathlessness, and Restless Leg Syndrome. He oversees several diagnostic sleep facilities and pulmonary function laboratories.
In addition to his medical expertise, Dr. Chan speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese, allowing him to offer care to a broader range of patients.
Senior Staff Specialist at Camden and Campbelltown Hospitals. He furthermore provides specialised care and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams.
Dr. Chan has a robust research portfolio, focusing on the interaction between obstructive sleep apnoea and chronic cough, and the development of novel diagnostic sleep techniques. His research has been presented at various conferences, covering topics such as the relationship between type 2 diabetes and obstructive sleep apnoea and cognitive impairment associated with the condition. In 2007, he was awarded the Conjoint Early Career Research Grant by Western Sydney University.
Dr. Chan is dedicated to education and serves as a conjoint senior lecturer at Western Sydney University Medical School. He actively participates in training the next generation of medical professionals and is also an examiner for the Australian Medical Council (AMC).
Dr. Chan is an active member of the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and enjoys running. He is passionate about classical music and football.
